Keith A. Fauvie Celebrated for Dedication to Commercial Aviation
Keith A. Fauvie recognized for invaluable contributions to the field of commercial aviation
SAVANNAH, GA, June 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Captain Keith A. Fauvie, Airline Captain for Trans States Airlines, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Commercial Aviation. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.
Fascinated by flight, Keith A. Fauvie recalls embarking on his first airplane ride at the age of 16. Since then, he has served in a number of varying capacities in the field of aviation and commercial flight. He earned his pilot's license in 1975 and served as a traffic controller for 15 years. He also served as a scheduling agent at an airport until he finally realized his dream of becoming a commercial airline captain two years ago. Now flying for Trans States Airlines, Mr. Fauvie specializes in flight operations and passenger safety. He is responsible for supervising crew members, monitoring weather conditions and analyzing flight plans.
A member of the Airline Transport Professionals, Mr. Fauvie maintains a close relationship with the Federal Aviation Administration. In fact, he has received awards for innovative safety suggestions that he has made for the FAA. He is also professionally affiliated with the Air Line Pilots Association.
Mr. Fauvie holds a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Pittsburgh, earned in 1973. He received airline transport, instrument and commercial airline rating. An avid golf enthusiast, Mr. Fauvie operated a golf school in Atlanta for five years and became a certified golf instructor through the U.S. Golf Teachers Federation. In his free time, he enjoys recreational sports such as bowling and golfing. As he moves forward, Mr. Fauvie intends to continue flying commercial aircraft and grow professionally with Trans States Airlines. He is also in the process of opening his own charter airline in Savannah, GA, the name of which will be KC Chartaire. Mr. Fauvie is just waiting on FAA approval, which should be received in the next six months.
