Ronald Richey Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
Ronald Richey has been honored for excellence in all aspects of engineering.

DUVALL, WA, April 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ronald Allen Richey, Software Engineer for Boeing, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of engineering.

For the past 12 years, Mr. Richey worked for The Boeing Co. as an engineer for Integrated Defense Systems. On February 25, 2009, returning home from a business trip, he boarded Flight TK1951 from Istanbul with three other Boeing employees when the plane crashed about one mile short of the runway at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. The Boeing employees were all sitting in the airline's business cabin near the front of the jet. Also killed were the two Turkish pilots and a crew member who was seated in the cockpit. Mr. Richey and his fellow Boeing employees had been working on the modification of 737s to be used by the Turkish military as electronic warfare planes.

The Dutch Safety Authority says the plane was landing on automatic pilot and that a problem with the altimeter, a device that measures altitude, led to a loss of airspeed before the crash.

Nickie Richey, Mr. Richey's wife, wants him to be remembered as a man who "walked tall and carried a big stick." He was kind, gentle, compassionate and extremely loving. They were married on April 16, 2005.

Mr. Richey graduated from Dawson County High School in Glendive, Montana in 1975. A gymnast, he received a third-place trophy for the high bars during his senior year. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1979. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Electronic and Electronic Engineering Technology from Montana State University in 1985.

Boeing is an aerospace company that provides commercial jetliners, military aircrafts, rotorcraft, electronic and defense systems, missiles, satellites, launch vehicles and advanced information and communication systems.
