With over 24 years of experience in international airline sales, Robert D. Smith gained extensive exposure to a variety of "All Cargo Aircraft" ranging from the once utilized Boeing 707 freighters to state-of-the-art 777-F's. Backed by this industry experience, Smith found himself uniquely positioned to establish Progressive Transportation Service Inc. to serve the airline industry. In operation since 1991, PTS provides sales and marketing services for international airlines, transfer and cartage services to the Chicago O'Hare area, interstate LTL to key markets, and FTL throughout the United States. Smith, who has garnered a reputation for excellence in cargo handling, U.S. customs procedures and ground support, dedicates much of his time to studying the particulars of the trucking industry and developing PTS into a leading local and interstate transportation provider.

Smith and his firm offer airline and international agents a variety of cargo services and solutions, which include airline sales representation (GSA), warehousing and physical transport. Known for "customer service that cares," Smith makes a conscious effort to provide his clients with diligent agent assistance and customized service plans. A graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology, Smith holds a bachelor of science in aviation commerce and flight technology. He is an affiliate of several industry associations including the International Air Cargo Association of Chicago, and the Air Forwarders Association.
