A2TECH and AppServer Solutions sign Joint Development Agreement on UAV video tracking
Advanced Aviation Technology - A2TECH, the Italian centre of excellence in the field of design and development of unmanned vehicle avionic and electronics driven by CANaerospace, and AppServer Solutions, Inc. (San Diego, CA) announced the formation of a strategic alliance on UAV surveillance.

/Aerospace - Aviation News Articles/ - March 16, 2008 - Advanced Aviation Technology - A2TECH, the Italian centre of excellence in the field of design and development of unmanned vehicle avionic and electronics driven by CANaerospace, and AppServer Solutions, announced on 12 March the formation of a strategic alliance to position both companies to capture next generation unmanned and manned airborne video digital signal processing products.

A2TECH's industry leading products coupled with AppServer's FPGA embedded algorithmic solutions technology means A2TECH is taking aggressive steps to provide customers with even greater performance onboard and ground video processing that can only be enabled by the most modern FPGA computing systems.

Commenting on the teaming agreement, Jarno Puff, R&D Director, A2TECH said, "The agreement marks the start of a new relationship that promises to position us to provide the most compelling and comprehensive video processing solutions to our customers. We have been working with AppServer Solutions for over a year, and we're looking forward to continuing a long and successful relationship with them."

Airborne video customers demand higher real-time performance processing systems using embedded systems instead of PC-based solutions. PC-based video processing systems affects on reliability and eventually fails.

A2TECH has recognized this trend, and recognizes that the AppServer's FPGA embedded algorithmic solutions technology provides a unique modular embedded solution for the next generation of real-time video processing products, resulting in a sharp competitive edge.

Marina Murzina, CTO and an Executive member of the Board of Directors of Appserver Solutions said, "We are very excited about the opportunity to work with such a recognized leader as A2TECH. Their commitment further illustrates industry's adoption of our enabling products."

The two companies are targeting a number of products and programs in both the military and commercial markets. Their first jointly developed solution is expected to be completed by mid 2008 under the Italian civil defence project "Emergency Image Transfer System - EITS".
